Connect with SSH
Key-based access, and what to do when it does not work.
- 01
Connect
Use the IP shown on the instance page. The default user is root on A2Cloud images.
ssh root@<instance-ip> - 02
Use a specific key
If you have several keys, point SSH at the right one explicitly.
ssh -i ~/.ssh/a2cloud_ed25519 root@<instance-ip> - 03
Reusing an existing host key
After a rebuild the host key changes. Clear the old entry rather than disabling host key checking.
ssh-keygen -R <instance-ip> - 04
Locking down further
Once keys work, disable password auth and restrict source addresses with a firewall rule or an A2Shield allowlist.
